I wanted to know if there is a way to recover data from a hard disk in which u get the you need to format this drive error

i just formatted it through swisnife&got my drive messed earlier & so i didnt even see
that what was in the disk drive when it came out of box.

i got seagate dashboard deleted, what should i do 2 get it back? I use windows xp &
used seagate’s disk manajmnt to heal it from corruption,
hdd is seagate freeagent goflex 1TB & got all 931.8GB formated to fat32 by
Active Partition Manager.I then tried 2 get real & default drive features, softwares etc
bak into drive but still i waznt able 2 bring dashboard bak & i even didnt open
folder of my drive when it was initially recognised & ready-2b-used on my laptop.

after you have made sure that the aluminum is now making good contact with the inside… pop the drive inside the enclosure and connect. ur pc should now recognize… it worked for me… i was originally going to take off the aluminum off, then i saw a blue film inside so i decided to just leave it be and put the aluminum back on … and put it back on the enclosure, i connected it and it worked hope it works for you

Hey I just fixed my seagate… same issue i have the go flex 500 gb… so i think what the issue is that you either dropped it and something inside got loose… so you need to look up a video on how to disassemble the go flex… which you only need to take out the drive from the plastic enclosure… once you have the full drive out of the enclosure… you should see the aluminum that is protecting the drive… press the drive together so that the aluminum can make good contact with the inside

try this…
click start button
click Run
type cmd then press Enter
at the command prompt type code
chkdsk /r d: then press enter

I have the same external hard drive but I think I have a worse problem than this. Your pc can still see where the drive was plugged in to (Drive “F” in your case) and my my problem is that my pc and any other pc/devices can’t detect my drive. I tried what the troubleshooting process from the seagate website and they told me that I need to use their application the SEATOOLS but even that can’t detect my external hard drive. HELP ME PLEASE 🙁 My drive is inactive for about 3 months now.

in my case, ubuntu recognizes the drive but its unmounted by defect and ubuntu doesnt let me mount muy hard driver 🙁

go to ubuntu . com, download the iso, then burn it to a CD using a disk burning software.

Look it up on youtube if you need any more help.
