Tried all the reg edit and adding the script code, none worked.
For me, uninstalling Windows Explorer 9 did the trick, had this issue with Maya 2012 x64 in Windows 7 platform.

Thanks. Worked like a charm for my 3ds max 2009 version.
Anyone who is having serial problems type in 666-12345678 instead of the 0’s

YOU ARE FUUUUUUUUUUUCKING AWESOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOME! THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU! IT WORKS PERFECTLY IN WINDOWS7! FUCK YOU HATERS!

uh.. i just solve my problem… (if anybody is having the same problem with error 20 or 41 or something like that, this may works.. sure if u ar using Win7)

///Maya2012 product///
go to C:ProgramDataFLEXnet
and rid of any file u see inthere(should be like 2 files, those ar for autodesk)

P.S.- this does works on xp but rather of C:ProgramData, could be C:User… just gotta find out….. r__r

Make sure you’re navigating via HKEY_CURRENT_USER rather than HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. Maybe you haven’t made that mistake, but just saying just in case.
