At some point in your life, your computer will surprise you with happy, little errors. Like “NTLDR is missing”. Good thing, Windows 7 DVD has some built-in tools to fix it, clean and simple. Music by: DiSloCaTed Title: Polar Lights Creative Commons license Get it at: sampleswap.org

Hi! Sorry für die späte Rückmeldung. Welchen? bootsect? Dort musst du schauen ob dein Laufwerk wirklich C: ist. Kann auch sein, das dein Laufwerk nicht erkannt wird, da musst du vorher die Treiber laden, dann klappt das normalerweise..

I havent a win 7 dvd its only upgrade dvd from vista to win 7 so it might not work. no it dosent work my computer dont find the bios. only the diagnostic. cant not push F8 or f12

how do i fix mine when i reach at bootrec/fixboot it says something might be corrupt how do i fix i

Hey sorcha,

This is a windows bug, unf. . .

Here you might find the answer. basically, boot up your win7 DVD, go into system recovery mode, click “Load Drivers”. When your C Drive pops up, right click and unselect “Compress”. Apply this to all subfolders, save the changes (This will take long if the whole system is compressed) and reboot 🙂

Please reply if this did help!

i defragged and today my computer will not boot up windows 7 the message that appears on the screen is: LMNXQ is compressed press ctrl+alt+del to restart
I have spent hours and have lot of work on it please help

I did something different… First I held ‘F1’ before the error appeared. after opening a different screen with diff options, you go to ‘BOOT’, then scroll down to ‘Hard Disk Drives’
Now you’ll have to switch the 1st drive to the 2nd drive and finally press ‘F10’ to save and exit.
That worked for me.. I guess I had switched the primary with secondary by mistake. If you have two hard drives then this should fix the ‘FTLDR MISSING’ problem…
Cheers!!! 🙂

Hey TidalFX,

If you overwrite the MBR / Master Boot Record you, to put it simple, overwrite the informaation where the operating system is located and how it is started.

If you use more than one OS on this disk, you should be careful, as e.g. it will “disable” (delete the information where it is) a linux OS.

But, your normal data is NOT in danger.

When my PC shows the boot up screen it first shows wrong username or password and then after I click OK. It shows my account ( I am administrator ) and when I go switch user it shows other user and not the users! PLEASE HELP!
