This is perhaps the best, and most efficient method of fixing Nvidia OpenGL/Black Screen issues. It has to do with Nvidia Powermizer and we’re going to disable it. Be sure you’ve done the following: – Have set the Power Management from ‘Adaptive’ to ‘Maximum Performance’ – Have Clean Installed Drivers (removed all previous Nvidia Display Drivers and Installed Fresh ones) – That your graphics card is NOT damaged or overclocked too high This requires you to mess with your registry, so before to make a back up prior to attempting what is seen in this video. Thanks to miemens of the NotebookReview forums for this workaround. You can also try this software to disable Nvidia’s Powermizer, however I’m not sure if it works (many say it does): somemorebytes.com

u posted this comment 2 months ago but whatever lol. you need to go to bios and make the primary boot option to cd instead of hdd and it should work

i’ve downloaded “UBCD4WIN”, i’ve burnt it onto a cd and when i insert it into my laptop (thats corrupted) nothing happens. I still get the same message “Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: WINDOWSSYSTEM32CONFIGSYSTEM” can you please help me. because i’ve been watching your videos and i’ve downloaded over a dozen xp operating systems for cd and none of it seems to be working. and i followed your video and im not getting any further than the error msg

So heres my problem i have windows system32 config system missing or corrupted and i plan to use a bootable flash drive to fix. I plan to use the flash to access my windows again and on the computer im just gonna copy the missing files from my bootable flash to the computers main drive. Is this possible because im not a computer genius and i dont even know if what i said is possible.

is there any easeir way without the cd can i do it with a usb and cani just format tthe whole computer i dnt need anything from the computer i will try anything i dnt care if the computer breaks i got it from my friend

If you do this do you automatically get logged in as an administrator? I have this problem and all I want to do is recover one of my folders except It says I don’t have the authority because I had the HDD connected to another computer via SATA to USB.

What if you have a notebook with this error. You don’t have dvd drive/cd drive. What should i do now? I really don’t understand what to do. Please comment!

you said this is for people without windows cd but in the ubcd4win video you said you need windows installation files from cd…. how am I supposed to make it when I don’t have the windows installation files!

my laptop say
STOP: c0000218 {registry file failure} and then it cannot load the hive (file) systemrootsystem32configsystem and then it says its log or alternate and it is corrupt, absent, or not writeable and it also says “beginning dump of physical memory” and “physical memory dump complete” what do i do?!

My PC is dead with a corrupted registry hive. When I boot I get a blue screen then a memory dump. After the dump finishes I get a screen with start options if I select the last recent boot that worked it fails blue screen and dump comes back. Same thing if I try safe mode. Since the last time it worked option does not work will I find a Restore Point that will be good or all corrupt? I am thinking of using my XP CD to repair the installed OS. Any suggestions hoping that UBCD will work.

what do I do if i have no restore points???? and how did u boot up with the cd? when i nenter my ubcd i see a list of different options.. i have really important files and family pictures on my computer… will fixing the registry result in losing all my documents? how i can i back up my files before i do anything? thanks. i know this is an old video but tnx for any possible help.

My computer crashed but following your directions I was able to create the ubcdforwin cd and recover all my files. I was a little nervous at first creating the iso file not sure I did it right. I installed the ubcd program and followed the prompts. I put my XP CD in the cdrom drive and hit go. It created the iso file which I burned as an image to a cd. Put it in the bad computer and It took a while to boot up the computer but I was patient and it worked!! Thank you!!

or anyone.. I’m trying to boot my computer with the ubcdforwin cd that i created. i get to the screen where it says launch “the ultimate boot cd for windows” and when i hit enter, it tells me to enter the windows xp cd-rom into Drive A. I have the xp cd-rom but there is no drive A as i’m using a laptop computer. what can i do? I tried removing the ubcdforwin cd and inserting the xp cd-rom but still get the same thing. please help?

nothing works even my system restore when i open my icons i have to brows to the file and then it opens my icons are like pieces of papers

So recently textures in games have been getting fucked up for me. An example being in Cod4 when I walk around the textures freak out and are really expanded and the game freezes a ton. In Minecraft some blocks have these really weird mixed textures and sometimes the textures get cut in half or expanded like in Cod4. I’ve already run like 10 virus scans w/ Norton and Malwarebytes. I’ve uninstalled Java, and Nvidia and reinstalled them. Please help.

i just installed it and set powermizer to disable while mainspower was plugged in and that’s all i did and never had a problem since. i just looked at what nvidia driver my gtx 560m is using and its 8.17.12.6837 that’s driver date 27/04/2011 hope that helps.

i dunno but for me is not working tho, maybe i’m doing it wrong but my problem is that i play modern warfare and when i’m going to start a math a black screen shows up and minimize the game i can still hear the shooting and stuff and after is minized a massage pops up saying that “NVIDIA display driver has stopped working” i’ll appreciate the help

i backed up the reg just in case but all was fine and i have not had any problem with my lappy ever since i disabled that damn power throttling crap. i play a lot of games and would say i push the laptop hard and its working fine now.

PerfLevelSrc – hexidecimal value of 3322
PowerMizerEnable – hexidecimal value of 0
PowermizerLevel – hexidecimal value of 1
PowermizerLevelAC – hexidecimal value of 1

D-word 32bit

Btw you skipped one of the registry entries in the video 😛 PowermizerLevel to be exact, otherwise thank you for this and hopefully this helps me out XD (not sure if there is a annotation up for it in the video since i was listening by ear while doing this, just noticed that you had skipped it)

i was going to edit the reg but im lazy so i downloaded the Powermizer from the link you provided and installed it, set it up to keep max power when in plugged in mode and applyed rebooted and omfg it worked like a dream i can now watch youtube vids without them going crazy or black screening. thanks for uploading this vid mate i appreciate it.
i used this on asus74sx windows 7 ulimate brand new laptop & crashing straight out of the box. bad bad asus for allowing that to happen from a new lappy
